Below is a list of software developers and the pre-packaged volunteer data management databases they offer. This list is by no means exhaustive, it is merely intended to give an example of the breadth of products available.

The following list includes software descriptions taken from the websites of software developers.

ebase:
Software Name: ebase
ebase is an integrated database template for nonprofits that want to effectively manage interactive communications with their members, donors, and citizen activists. The primary purpose of ebase is to provide a central place for tracking names, memberships, donations, activities, voting history, and responses to organizational mailings
Using ebase, an organization can increase its capacity to conduct effective fundraising and constituency outreach campaigns. Based on FileMaker ProŽ for Windows or Macintosh, ebase is easy to learn, use and customize, making it a good choice for organizations that have no staff trained in database design or management. Best of all, ebase is free.

Enscribe Technologies, Inc.:
Software Name: Servus
Automatically match volunteers with projects. Creates personalized form letters for all the people in your database. Prints mailing labels and envelopes automatically. Prints reports, which list and compile statistics for all the people and projects you coordinate. Enters information easily and accurately. Stores multiple Notecards for each person and project. Lists and browses through several people and projects simultaneously. Sorts volunteers and projects into whatever order you choose.

This program is customizable to any of the Senior Corp Programs - FGP, SCP and RSVP, and to your specific needs, including all the information that is necessary for required reports, and the reports that many sponsors require. Support is available for problems or if changes are needed. Contact the company to have a demo disk of the basic program sent to you.

Affirmative Technologies:
Software Name: VolStar
VolStar is the software solution for sporting, cultural, or other events that involve 500 or more volunteers. Allows volunteers to enter their information, including availability and preferences, via the Internet. Matches volunteers" preferences with committee needs. Schedules volunteers for activities. Generates a wide variety of management reports and statistics to let you easily see where volunteers are still needed. Prints mailing labels and identification tags. Generates "to-do" items and checklists by volunteer. Tracks your unique requirements, such as clothing issued, fees paid, languages spoken, and security access codes. Leaping Ware:
Software Names: VolTrax for FGP, SCP, and RSVP programs
The VolTrax set of programs is designed specifically for the Foster Grandparent, Senior Companion, and RSVP programs. These software programs help you manage your special volunteer organizations, keeping up with volunteers, the stations they work through, the hours, meals, miles and so on (and the reporting which comes from all of that information).

Logico Solutions, LLC:
Software Name: Good Works 97/2000
Good Works 97/2000 is a database application designed to facilitate fundraising, volunteer data management, donation tracking, pledge tracking, event planning, mailings, and other common tasks associated with the administration of nonprofit organizations. Developed in Microsoft Access, it is optimized for use with the Microsoft Office suite. Can support multiple users simultaneously, and yet is priced for the smaller to medium-size nonprofit organization operating on a limited budget.

Maverick is available for RSVP and FGP's. This database is designed in Microsoft Access; versions for Access 97 and 2000 are available. You must have Access on your computer in order to use Maverick.

Maverick allows you to track volunteers and all their biographical data, service hours, BHN, station information, and many other details. All Corporation required reports as of 1/1/2000 can be produced in Maverick. Also, you can customize this database to include information specific to your program. Data conversion is also available.

Software Name: Volunteer Coordination System
Using your existing PC network or a stand-alone computer, the Volunteer Coordination System (VCS) can keep track of volunteers" contact information, skills, availability, assigned schedule and locations, hours worked, awards, and more. VCS allows simultaneous LAN/network access and, if desired, web access using the provided ColdFusion web templates.

Polytheoretics:
Software Name: ProVelle Professional Edition
The ProVelle Professional Edition comes prepared to manage volunteer activities, communications, and records. ProVelle is a relational database. ProVelle comes custom-compiled to precisely fit your particular organizational structure and nomenclature, so you can start benefiting immediately from its great features.

Red Ridge:
Software Names: VolunteerWorks, Version 2.1 and VolunteerTools
VolunteerWorks is volunteer information management software designed especially for Microsoft Windows operating systems. You can use VolunteerWorks to keep detailed volunteer records, and to perform common volunteer office functions such as tracking prospective volunteers, monitoring your application process, scheduling volunteers, managing volunteer recognition, tracking opportunities and job descriptions, tracking and reporting volunteer hours, and printing lists, labels, letters, hour reports, schedules, calendars, and more.

VolunteerTools are Internet building blocks that volunteer programs use to combine the power of the Internet with their VolunteerWorks database. Adding VolunteerTools features on your website is as simple as placing an HTML link on a web page. Add powerful database features to your site without programming or the expense of a web server database.

ROVIR:
Software Names: ROVIR (Retriever of Volunteer Information and Reporting)
ROVIR was created with considerable input from major nonprofit organizations such as United Way, AIDS Foundation Houston and Houston Hospice. It creates a volunteer schedule based on the input recorded in the system. It records all volunteer hours by day, month and year, making it easy to total each volunteer's hours for reporting purposes.

VisionLink:
Software Names: ServiceLink, Tapestry
ServiceLink is a new tool for information and referral specialists. Built on new technologies, it can offer very high value at low cost. To use ServiceLink you need access to the Internet and any standard browser on a PC or Macintosh computer. VisionLink takes care of the servers and software, upgrades and maintenance, backups, and more. Because ServiceLink is accessible across the web, and information is instantly updated, location is no longer a constraint. Software Name: The Volunteer Reporter
The Volunteer Reporter, used by over 60% of RSVPs, is designed for RSVPs and volunteer centers. It enables you to place volunteers in suitable positions throughout your community and keep track of their service hours. It prints dozens of instant management reports, including quarterly reports, project profile, hours served, and mailing labels. Although originally designed for RSVPs, the company expanded and enhanced the Volunteer Reporter years ago to work well for any volunteer center. The Volunteer Reporter is designed to help you manage, schedule, and track all the volunteers you use within your organization.
