The following newsletter templates have been created using Microsoft
Publisher. You can choose from the versions of the certificates
depending on your program type. To download the template, right-click (
click and hold down on a Mac ) and choose Save Target As (Download Link to Disk ).
All you will need to do to customize the template is to fill in your
program information, and write applicable articles on your program.
Including pictures from your own organization would further personalize
the newsletter.
Each template has been tailored to Senior Corps programs, and includes:
- Appropriate Senior Corps program logo
- Corporation logo (on back page)
- USA Freedom Corps logo (on back page)
- Senior-related clip art from Microsoft Publisher
Some Microsoft Publisher tips for using the template, and tailoring it to your own use:
- Fill in your own text in the existing text boxes by
clicking in the box, highlighting the text and then typing your story
or article.
- You can delete some of the existing text boxes to allow
for fewer and/or longer articles by clicking on the text box you want
to remove, and then hitting the delete or backspace key. You will first
have to remove the existing text and then you can delete the text box
altogether. You can then resize the text box you want to keep by
clicking and dragging the box to the size you want.
- Replace the images with your own by clicking on the existing image and then going to the menu bar and clicking on Insert > Picture > From File .
Then choose the image you want to insert and resize it to the
appropriate size. You can also double-click on the existing image and
you will come to the Microsoft Publisher clip art collection, where you
can choose different clip art.
- The template is in a two column design. If you want to
change to a three-column layout, you can use the Wizard to do this. In
the lower left corner, clicking the Show Wizard button, and then clicking on Number of Columns .
- You can also use the Wizard , and clicking on Customer Address to add space on the fourth page for an address to be added to each newsletter for mailing if desired.
- To add pages to the newsletter, go to the menu bar at the top and click on Insert > Page add then add where needed.
- The template is set to print double sided currently. You can change this by using the Wizard , and then clicking on One- or Two-Sided Printing .
- Basically, anything on the page can be edited, changed or deleted.
