Confirm Your Project Listing

You will need to confirm your project listing data the first time that you access JASON. You should also use the following steps to update your program information as it changes. It will be up to you to keep the information on your program current, and to provide descriptions that will be enticing to potential volunteers.

Use the following steps to review and confirm your project listing data. When you review this information, think about the accuracy of the data, as well as whether the information will "sell" your project to a prospective volunteer!

  1. When you log in to JASON, you will come to the Project Main Menu page that contains your Project List with the station opportunities listed, and a left hand navigation bar. You can always get back to your project list by clicking View Project List in the left navigation bar.

  1. Click on Details to review the information for your project. What you see here is exactly what the public will see when they access your project information through JASON. The first time you go in, you will notice that there is very little information entered.

Updating Existing Project and Station Data

Use the following instructions once you are ready to make changes to your project listing data, or to make changes your station data.

We recommend that you update your information at least once a quarter. When you update your information here, that same information is now updated on the Senior Corps website as well, so it is important to keep the information up-to-date, so that potential volunteers can find you from the Senior Corps website as well as JASON. You should update your project information whenever:

  • New impact-based opportunities are added at a listed volunteer station.
  • A new volunteer station is added.
  • Project contact information changes.

When you are ready to make changes, go to the Project Listing screen (if on the Details screen, click Go Back to return to the Project Listing screen).

  1. On the Project Listing screen, click on Update. This will take you to a data entry screen where you can update all of your project information.

    Tip:

Everything can be updated except sponsor information. If you want to change this e-mail the JASON helpdesk at: jason@etr.org.

  1. After you are done, click on Save Draft. Review, and then click on Submit Project to confirm that the listing is final. This will generate an e-mail notice to CNCS staff that lets them know your project information is ready for approval. After the CNCS state office approves your project information, it will go "live" on the system.

Required fileds are denoted with a red * and must be filled in before the project information can be published to the Internet. After you click Save Draft, the items not completed, or those with unacceptable text will be highlighted in gray. The Submit Project button will not be visible until these edits are complete.

Note: You will not see your changes reflected on the Details page until the information is approved.

  1. If you need to leave JASON before you have finished updating your information, click on the Save Draft button prior to leaving. When you return to the update screen you will see the saved information and can begin where you left off.
